Experimental Typefaces

These are 14 different typefaces I have taken off dafont.com to see which one would look best for my masthead of my magazine Embrace. Out of all of the images I feel that my favorite two are ‘Fineliner Script’ and ‘A Gentle Touch’ because they both have a unique twist to them, both joint up and also legible and easy to read for the audience. As I need to chose one typeface overall I feel that it would definitely be ‘A Gentle Touch’ because I really admire how the ‘B’ is joint onto the ‘R’, also I feel it is more modern and quirky than the others. Finally I have chosen this typeface because of how the letter ‘e’ looks – in my sketchbook I experimented with paint and different ways to have the word ’embrace’ and I created the letter E exactly the same as the one in ‘A Gentle Touch’, so for these reasons I have chosen this typeface for my magazine. Likewise when looking at my research I have noticed that 90% of fashion magazines have a simple straightforward typeface and this gives me even more  reason to have a joint up type to make my magazine completely different from others.
